Multi-platform enterprise systems face a wide range of persistent threats, yet the strategies used to secure and strengthen their resilience remain inconsistently aligned. This work proposes an identity-centric defense model built around identity management and federation. The model integrates identity, authentication, authorization, and governance functions into a unified architecture, delivering cross-domain trust and supporting resilient continuity operations.
Developing this identity-centric approach begins with framing a set of key research questions: Can a coherent identity-centric architectural model be established to support resilience objectives across diverse platforms? What theoretical foundations underpin such a model? And what does the identity-centric threat landscape look like across multiple platforms? The proposed model addresses these questions by synthesizing insights from the security, trust, and resilience literatures, with particular attention to incident management and assurance operations—including auditing and assessment—within the broader context of identity management and federation.
