Increasing regulatory scrutiny has put anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing policies and related operational processes under pressure. Regulatory compliance requires continuous and automated monitoring and reporting for various legal requirements. In response to these challenges, and building on the foundation of cloud-native data engineering, a cloud-based framework for regulatory compliance is presented. At its core are cloud-based data screening pipelines that continuously and automatically monitor data with respect to risk indications, rule violations, sanctions lists, and complex business rules. To realise these pipelines and support other regulatory requirements, a cloud-native data engineering framework was developed, engineered, and defined.
